It is said that Walakiri Beach is one of the most awesome beaches in East Sumba, coming with a characteristic tends to be very calm, sloping and having a stretch of white sand. Walakiri also has a unique mangrove with white sand adorned with coconut trees which provide shade and a very cozy atmosphere when tourists actually walk across the beach.
Some other unique things to know about this place is that there are 2 different types of sand texture between the sand on the beach and sand in the receding area of the sea. The sand on the beach has a nice texture like beach sand in general which is ivory colored colored granules, where the sand and the receding area has a texture like powder or wet cement which then dries and hardens.
Another thing is that there is a clear line between two types of sand, Walakiri beach is also the right spot to wait for the sunset because there are dwarf mangrove trees which grow at the end of the shoreline, which adds to the beauty of the Walakiri Beach sunset.
At a distance, if the water is high there is nothing that makes the Walakiri Beach superior, just wait until the water sets, then combination of the color of the twilight sky and the silhouette of mangrove trees that looks truly artistic and photographic to be pictured from all directions.
